my 99 baby chicks came today, I have questions

Pasty butt is very common in the first few days as they initially begin to eat their starter grower crumbles. Making sure their water is warm helps some and I start from day one adding a tiny bit of ACV ( with the mother ) and lose very few chicks.

Pasty butt can kill a chick very quickly as they are so tiny and the pasty butt keeps them from being able to deficate properly so they die.

I normally don't have any pasty butt problems after day four so am not as vigilent in checking for it and lost a gorgeous little BR chick a few weeks
ago because at day 6 she had pasty butt and I didn't notice it until too late.

I bet that was "fun".....looking at 99 chicken butts! And keeping them straight as to who's butt has been looked at and who's has not!
95 chicken butts clear right now....95 butts all clear...take one out pass it around 95 butts all clear! 96 chicken butts clear right now..........

I'd make a couple of waterers with poultry nipples for that many chicks. Hard to keep clean water with 99 chicks!
