Here's my 3 week old chick. Plus, I will give you the 2 week old pic. I wondered if this was an EE, because of its yellow legs. Is it a roo? Can you tell at 3 weeks?

Could be an EE. Not an Ameraucana because of the green legs, like you thought. In fact, those legs look lighter than green, almost more yellow with dark shading. What kind of comb does it have?

Where did you get it? Feed store or breeder? It could really be a wheaten ameraucana if from a breeder, as they do indeed start out with yellow legs that darken as they get older, and have that same feather color.

I think it's probably an EE. Did you get it from the feed store or a breeder? My Wheaten Ameracaunas have pink legs as chicks (you can also see that in the pictures on the breeder's club website) and light gray as adults. If it has yellow or green legs it's probably an EE. Can you describe the color a bit more? As far as gender goes, it's a bit to early to tell. If by chance it is a Wheaten Ameracauna, I'd say pullet.

I got it as an egg and hatched it in the bator from MyPetChicken, marked in a greenish egg "Ameracauna." The brown patterning has just come up with new feathers. It started off completely yellow with yellow legs. I'll keep an eye on the darkening.

MPC has just recently started to sell "real Ameraucanas", and they are Wheatens. I have been very interested to see what the results are. Please keep posting pics of this chick as it grows, and when it matures. If the legs darken to slate, I'm willing to say it's an Ameraucana, and be impressed with MPC's new program. It won't be a show bird, but at least it won't be an EE.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that! Hm, interested to see what this baby grows up to look like as well.

right now its hard to tell but when it gets older if it grows a beard or muffs its an EE.
