my araucana chick quit on me :(

I went to feed and water the chicks last night and one was just sitting by itself. It was my only tufted (but tailed) araucana. I picked her up and she didn't fuss. I gave her some vitamins and water. She was dead by morning

. I usually feed and water them in the morning and night but missed yeasterday morning. They are 2 weeks old, could the 24 hours been too much? I feel bad. Everyone else looks fine, normal poops. She seemed skinny, I just added another feeder and waterer just in case that was he problem. 2 chicks in 3 days

Oh no! SO sorry to hear.. maybe there is some kind of virus or something going on..you may want to post in the emergency/sick chicken area to see if someone can help. Maybe they need antibiotics? I would hate to see you lose more if it is a sickness.

Tufts are a lethal gene, which usually kills them in the shell between days 18-21. The ones that survive to hatch may have higher mortality, if they weren't meant to hatch in the first place.
