My Ayam Cemani hatch-a-long!

I cannot find anything on Mosaics egg color. One site said the eggs are similar in size to the Cemani, and the cemani was used in the development. I like the blue eggs! Mine are going to be for pets anyhow.

Here's information from the farm that originally created the "Mosaics". Where its at now is hard to say as there isn't a breed standard or anything. They say they should lay cream colored eggs.

I have chickens mostly for the eggs, and I needed blue.

This guy hatched around lunch time. My kiddos were thrilled to get to watch the whole thing! This one has a white toe so most likely this one will not end up in my main breeding project but he/she will be pretty in my main mixed flock.

Now just to wait on the rest to hatch! I have 3 more pipping currently, one looks like it'll start zipping anytime now!

I like AC for their beauty, mine seem like they would rather sit on eggs then lay eggs. I have a pure who didn't even want chicks just eggs, I have one who is AC/BCM that only wants chicks, I also have one all black AC/EE I am really excited about her. I also have 2 other mixes that may be boys which I love the roosters. The pures are stunning but the mixes can also be very beautiful!
I hope these pics will give you something to look forward to.
