So I tried to hatch out some eggs last month, only had a single chick hatch out of 8 eggs. Big bummer! I had a couple days where my humidity was really off so I think that came into play a lot.

So I'm trying again, I set 29 eggs this time! 3 of which are pretty old and were lost in the mail for a month so I'm not holding my breath on them but the rest I'm hoping to get some better results! The eggs are in my nurture right 360 and I am hand turning until I check in about 7-10 days for viability then I'm hoping I'll end up with 22 eggs so the incubator can run as normal

Lets see pics of the incubator all set I love hatch a longs :D

Here it is, I have the eggs sitting on the turner (turner is off for now I'm manually turning) but once I find out which are viable and which aren't I'll remove the bad ones.

Update: 5 eggs got taken out yesterday that look like they aren't viable. I have 22 that are for sure growing and can see movement, then I have 2 I'm on the fence about. I'm giving them a couple more days then I'm going to check again.

I like AC for their beauty, mine seem like they would rather sit on eggs then lay eggs. I have a pure who didn't even want chicks just eggs, I have one who is AC/BCM that only wants chicks, I also have one all black AC/EE I am really excited about her. I also have 2 other mixes that may be boys which I love the roosters. The pures are stunning but the mixes can also be very beautiful!
I hope these pics will give you something to look forward to.

Pure. Only likes eggs.

Update: 9 days left, the 2 eggs I wasn't sure about got tossed yesterday. One I can see had started to develop and quit a day or 2 into it the other there was no progress.

So I have 22 Ayam Cemani eggs! I did notice I have A LOT of saddle air cells so I'm not sure what I could have done that caused that. Hopefully they hatch alright

Not so awesome update. So a few days before my last update we had a bit of a mishap. Not sure when it happened but as some point one of my kids either bumped the incubator hard (heck maybe even a dog) or tried to open it. It wasn't fully shut which then with my pretty cold dry house messed up the temp and humidity pretty bad. I didn't notice for a good day or so what actually happened. I was trying to cover it with a towel, add more water, etc. I didn't realize it wasn't fully shut.

I was hoping it wasn't going to cause that big of an issue but I candled the eggs last night. :hit

Of the 22 we had growing well 9 of them look like they quit about the time that happened. They were all side by side so my guess is they were the ones that that were close to where the opening was during the coldest times.

We are 4 days from hatching now! I have 13 left. Hoping they all do well. My husband realized about halfway through these were all Ayam Cemani eggs we were tossing so he realized how bad it hurt to throw the bad ones out and why I was so upset

I am very sorry. I hope the rest hatch.

On the bright side though only 4 days until you will have beautiful chicks in the incubator instead of eggs. Until you move them to the brooder of course.

Well y'all, my incubator is chirping at me this morning! Two chicks are starting to hatch! So far I think I only see two pipped but official hatch day isn't until tomorrow afternoon so we still have plenty of time!

This one actually JUST STARTED and he's making quick work of this shell. We shall see which hatches first!
