My Babies First Swim

Oooooh Steeeeeve...... they just got their shipment of Pekins and Runners in yesterday in Coldwater

They have this little waterslide set up for them... OMG it's too cute!!!

I've ordered from Ideal and just wanted the khaki campbells and they have them listed as Crested Khaki Campbells-
Crested Khaki Campbell Ducks have solid brown or khaki colored plumage and are characterized by having a crest that are globular in form and relatively large. Khaki Campbell Ducks have been bred to be one of the most prolific layers of all breeds of poultry. They are an active, moderately streamlined bird that has been bred without concentration on extreme characteristics. Since there is a lethal gene involved in producing crested ducks, special mating considerations must be made.

I was just going to get Chickens, until I got on this forum and heard about duck eggs and how the Khaki's outlay a chicken and they are just soo cute and have such personality...........soo now I'm getting 3 ducks along with my chicken shipment!!

I picked up 6 Pekin ducklings and 4 Chinese goslings last week, put a pan of water in the pen last night. They ignored it. Put a goose in, he jumped out like it was poison, put a duck in, same result. Just my luck, my ducks and geese can't swim. (long sigh)

I gave them another swim tonight and they just loved it. Four of them at once swimming underwater and bumping into each other. They're so clumsy, it's such a crack-up.
