Pics of the little ones! 2 Pekin, 2 weeks old, 1 wild type Mallard, 1 week old, 2 Pekin x Domestic Mallard, 1 week old, and my pride and joy, a little Saxony, 4 days old.
The Saxony I had to keep in a rodent cage inside the brooder because the little Mallard was being SO MEAN, but today it is old enough and strong enough to pick right back at it. And the older ones are acclimated to it since it was near them the whole time. But that little Mallard has quite the attitude!
I ditched the pine shavings and went to towels, with a rinse in a utility sink prior to washing. Before, my compost pile was growing much too fast with wet pine shavings!
A friend of mine is going to take the Pekins and Mallard.
