I've been brooding some buttons and coturnix together that hatched 7-25-09 and decided today was move out day for the giant coturnix.
They've gone outside to new quarters and seem very happy.
However the poor buttons are missing their big buddies.
It's very sad , they are standing around and calling and calling and calling.
Apparently I'm a mean qualie caretaker

There I was thinking they'd like to have room to move and not be trampled every 10 seconds.
What was I thinking ?

Just how sensitive are buttons? Both for separation anxiety and for keeping outside?

I have a total of 28 in my rubbermaid brooder and wondered how big a container I'll need for them in another five weeks.

My coturnix are split up into four pens and we just sent the bachelors to camp abatoir this week. I'll have a five by three foot pen ready as soon as it is lysoled.
