Roopecca might be a rooster on the surface but inside is a spoiled girl.
Haven't seen Roopecca in a while, got puffy didn't he?

He's a big boy.whew! While I build my walk in coop he is residing in the guest house. A bit cramped for such a big boy. As soon as the girls move into the big house he will get the original coop as his bachelor pad. I couldn't take another rooster attack but can't bear to cull him.

I vote keep the chickens and rehome the step-dad. Maybe find him a nice place he could run free and eat bugs.

Roopecca is a Lavender Orpington. Handsome devil. Devil being the key word here lol. I know, he's just trying to protect his ladies. Since I'm the only non chicken that enters his space I am the only thing they need to be protected from...in his eyes.

I brought my girls inside for the day. My mother was petting my baby and noticed the redness fluctuation and noticed her panting when the others weren't.

Is she eating and drinking ok? Is there anything obstructing her airway? Is her crop empty in the morning before she has a chance to eat anything, and full at night, not squishy?
