my baker's dozen of lavender cuckoo orpingtons

I think my sicky chicky is on the mend. Brought him in the house just for a few minutes to syringe feed him some coconut oil/yogurt and hand feed him. His crop felt much less full tonight, but I have seen him eating all day so I expected it to be full. He pooped twice (why do chicken keepers celebrate poop SO MUCH?) and things seem to be moving through him at proper rate. I would say he's not back to full steam but 50% improved over yesterday.
So, who knows what it was. He is on the small side and so maybe his digestive tract is a bit sluggish. He really likes being in the house; we may have to get him a pardon from freezer camp in the fall.

Well, I have 11 solid Lavender Orpington eggs going into lockdown today. It's my first hatch and I am trying not to lose my mind. The cuckoos outside are 3 weeks old and look like pterodactyls. They are flying a little and everyone tries to take off with excitement when I go in to feed them. The guy who I think might be my 'performance' rooster likes to land on my shoulder and have a word with me about the state of our flock lol.
Edited to add update on my sick chick: He is healthy as can be, gluttonous and TINY. Clearly the runt, and his feathers aren't coming in nearly as fast as everyone else's . He still needs more time under the heat lamp than anyone else, but fights his way to the center of the dish at feeding time and caught more crickets than anyone else yesterday. I am going to try to get a picture of him being dwarfed by the others today.

You can see how far behind his feather growth is compared to his sister(?) beside him. His comb is coming in nicely though!

Well, I may have had my first brush with virus/illness. Went out to the coop to a dead cockerel and a pullet unable to stand. It looks like Marek's from the description I read, but everyone was 100% 8 hours before. I am baffled by how fast this hit.
The other ten are fine so far (fingers crossed). I put the sick pullet in a box in the garage. It seems neurological; repeated head movements, paralysis.
I turned off their heat lamp during the day yesterday. That couldn't possibly have anything to do with this sudden sickness, could it? They are 4 weeks today and almost fully feathered.
Having to disinfect myself and change clothes every time I come in from outside is not the way I planned to spend the day. I be darned if I'll pass it on to the 2 day old chicks in the basement though.
I washed the floor of the coop with hot water and a few drops of bleach and left the door wide open for some air exchange. Sure hoping I don't lose any more...
