My Bantam Delawares

Oh yeah, Happy... they are showable. APA will allow you to show them too.

And everybody.... I should have looked at the calander. The Madisonville trade is not this week. It is scheduled for the first and third Saturday every month... this week will be the fourth. DUH ME!!!

I was planning on doing both swaps.... I just had the weeks wrong on the Madisonville one.

I don't think there is anything to look up, though. It started a couple years ago and just some old timers meeting early in the morning to trade and it keeps growing. There isn't a leader or a organization or anything. Just a casual meetup.

Oh- I just didn't know where Madisonville was. It sounded like it was close to Spring City, but it's too far from me

I am hoping to do a batch of banty EE eggs when the weather cools off. If you have any of the bantam Del eggs to sell end of August/early Sept let me know!

If I'm going to have to keep any chicks in the house for a while- they might as well be tiny ones!

I think they'd be great for kids 4H or fair showing. Or maybe a really cool coronation project with bantam orps or rocks

You know, this is a really good idea. Give your roos to someone who shares with the 4H kids. Next year, give your roos to kids who show show .If they start winning you could develop a 4H following for your birds.
Best,
Karen

Hi all, Thanks Karen in western PA for the link to this thread.
I have the two Delaware chicks not growing... I was wondering if someone on this thread had pics of their bantam Delawares (pullets). I'm just hoping to compare what mine look like. Mine are 19 weeks old (almost 20 now) and they are small, but not truly "hen shaped" if that makes sense. Not having seen a Bantam Delaware I don't know if this is what mine are or not. Any pic would be helpful, thanks!
