My barred rock hen became a real friend.

Today in the afternoon,we came back from town and I decided to put lights in the hen house, so I let the girls to go out for free ranging,it was about 4.30 pm andmy wife has collectedthe eggs for the day which they were 6, usually when our barred rock hen does not lay by 3 pm that means it is done deal for the day, today was I was working in the coop hammering and making all kind of noises she came and decided to go to the nesting box, I told her what you doing here, she sat and I told my wife now she decided to come here, I ignored her and kept on working, she layed an egg while I was there, and she is letting me pet her, I thought that was really sweet.

It is pretty surprising that they will lay in front of you huh ! Mine don't seem to mind if Im in cleaning and filling feeders etc. They just come in and get comfortable. I was pretty surprised when the first one layed while I was right there.
