My beautiful new coop for my 6 girls.

The coop has a wooden floor with 2 layers of lino on top which is what they poo on. Every morning it's swept out and washed and put back when it's dry. It keeps lovely and clean as they don't go in there any more after they have finished laying. I even put sprigs of lavender in there to make it smell nice and make it relaxing for them. As for their run they only go in there to eat during the day as they are roaming around the garden all day so the floor doesn't get that dirty. Just a few poops here and there which I pick up straight away. It might be a different story if we have to go out and leave them all day, it might be a bit messier then. Their poop it put in a barrel with water to fertilise the flower beds and veggie garden and everything is going crazy 😆
Just as a precaution, I'd like to mention that linoleum floors can get slick. I had a hen jump off the roost and slide. She walked with a limp for several days. I just cover mine with straw now.

Hi new chicken mum here and loving every minute of it. I have 6 ISA Browns that are doing so well and are laying 6 eggs every day. I have wanted chickens for so long, so now my husband has built a gorgeous coop for them inside a large aviary.
Your coop and hens look amazing! Can wait to see more of your story!
