@Paula 53 It's a pullet because it doesn't have long sickle and saddle feathers like a rooster would.

Where did you get it? I believe it is a pullet. Likely a mix breed with a dominant white as one parent. What color egg did it hatch from?

At that age both pullets and cockerels will have combs. Males develop combs and wattles at a younger age, whilst pullets (females) develop them later. Around laying age, the pullet's comb and wattles will redden. That's probably what you're seeing
