if you havent done any stong worming because of his poor health at the moment I would give buttermilk, with the yougurt and the cat food. I use raw buttermilk I get from the co-op but any will do. it will help as a natural wormer. crushed raw pumpkin seed is good too but it is not in season.

I hope he makes it I have brought birds back from the brink of death, never one that was 6 but it can be done. if he does not eat enouh I would tube feed him, its not hard and I can walk you through it if need be.

He's still in recovery mode but seems to be at about 75%. I'm letting him sleep in the freshly cleaned coop tonight with his girls. I like the idea pf natural wormers. Nephi at the feed store says that the old school Mormon farmers around here use the local wild plant Mormon Tea or Ephedra to worm chickens- any thoughts on that? Thanks again!

Glad to hear Foghorn is on the mend. Absolutely can not believe that I got emotionally involved with a chicken, that lives in Utah. Everyone that said "beloved" caught their attention was absolutely right. First and last time I am ever posting in this section. I did learn something that I did not know about chicken longevity however. Lifespan of "pet" chickens can be way longer than the general population. Foggy should have many, many more years of sunshine. I apologize for any feathers I may have ruffled. So here's wishing the many, many more years of good karma to you and your rooster tashideleg. Appreciate the update. I needed a happy ending. As far as the natural wormers, down here in Third World, Texas we treat worms with tequila, but I ain't even going to go there.
