I have no idea how old my oldest coturnix are. They were given to me as adults. They have had a low stress life since they came to me and a massive cage (16 square foot for four birds in that covey).
However long they make it is fine with me. I've done what I can to give them a reasonable life. In turn, I use their eggs to nourish our bodies.
