My Blue Cochin had the ride of her life in the gaping jaws of a Chow

Today I decided to set up a new room for my brooder/incubator room. So I put the incubators and brooders on the floor in the old room and moved the tables to the new room. A few minutes later I hear a distressed peeping sound headed in my direction. When I go to investigate, I find my wife's chow happily trotting through the living room headed to his favorite treat chewing spot. He had my favorite 3 week old blue cochin in his mouth and she looked pretty scared! I was surprised at the adrenaline surge I got when I saw this. I guess I have to admit I’m emotionally invested in that pretty little bird. The bird turned out fine and the dog spent the day locked outside.

I guess I should name her since I am obviously emotionally attached. Any suggestions?

Oh my word! I can't think of any name worthy of such a brave little chick but I'm happy she made it out of the jaws of death intact.

Glad she made it out alright!!!

Mebe call her Slobber?

We had a sole survivor of a predator attack, and named the pullet " lucky chick" .
She grew to become the boss chicken of the yard.
Having no rooster, she would announce the sunrise with her "egg song" , which
at that time of the morning was as undesirable as any rooster crow.
The coop was in the back of the yard- closer to our neighbors than to us.
