I am a huge lover of back yard bred chickens, especially crosses. My latest is a rooster that I rescued as a week old chick while house sitting for my cousin. He was being pecked on by his siblings. I took him home (Hoping he would be a she) amd hand raised him. Yes, he has spent the last 7 months being pampered by me. I have 9 hens, so he is most definitely a welcome addition to my flock. He is Potch Koekoek cross Black Australorp. He is, in my view, absolutely gorgeous. We are in South Africa, so a Potch Koekoek is a South African version of the Barred Rock.

He's a good looking guy!

First word for whatever reason that popped for me was “very smart looking! Dapper!”

Wow, very proud, handsome boy. Looks like he takes his job seriously, too.
I like how you captured iridescence in his feathers, good photo. 👍
