Here is my light Brahma Roo. HE is just under 9 months and getting big! almost triple the size of all my other chickens (mostly RIR and Red Sex Link). I just think he is so gorgeous! New coop Under construction in the background. Also video of him crowing at 6 months linked below.

Larger chickens like brahmas and Jersey giants will stop growing the first year, The second and third year is actually them just putting on weight

Oh no! I may be in trouble! I was at the feed store yesterday and they had light Brahma chicks... well, I retrained myself and did NOT get any but I was SO tempted!! And I even secretly said to myself “I wouldn’t mind if one turned out to be a rooster”
Really the only thing keeping me from getting them is having babies in the winter
He is SO gorgeous though that I would really love to have one
