She had 5 eggs but only 3 hatched, still I'm very proud of our new mama! The first naturally hatched ducks on the farm...

They are adorable. I have a question about ducks. I see wild mallards a lot with babies but the father is never around. In the wild do the males share none of the raising of the ducklings? With our Canadian Geese there is always both parents with the young. I was just wondering about this.

These has to be one of the cuttest duck pics i'd ever seen!

Theres something about a nest out in the open that you can't help but stair..lol

What adorable pictures. I agree that it's so cool to see them in that beautiful, natural nest.

This father hangs out with mom when she leaves the nest, but other than that she chases him and everyone else away. They are very bonded, I'm sure he is anxious for her to go back to her old flirty self!

that bottom picture is one of the sweetest things i have ever seen!!!
when i get my ducks, i'll dream that they will look just that cute. momma should be proud, she did fine work!

Canadian Geese are monogomous(sp?) which means they mate for life

. I don't know about ducks though. I'm sure it would be helpful to the mama duck.
