She had 5 eggs but only 3 hatched, still I'm very proud of our new mama! The first naturally hatched ducks on the farm...

They are adorable. I have a question about ducks. I see wild mallards a lot with babies but the father is never around. In the wild do the males share none of the raising of the ducklings? With our Canadian Geese there is always both parents with the young. I was just wondering about this.

We have a famly of wild mallards on our pound I'm not sure if the father is there but they usually take off 2 at a time.
