Today my male Budgie flew out of his cage and downstairs. Every so often he'll do this just to explore downstairs and then makes his way back upstairs. But when he flew down today and I wen to help him back upstairs he was acting really weird. He's not completely trained but he'll hop onto my finger for some treats but after he flew downstairs he acted like a completely trained bird! He let me pick him up and would let me pet him and would not move off of my finger. He wouldn't go into his cage and I literally had to pry him off of my hand. He was gripping my finger so hard with his feet that it was hurting a bit. Im worried because he has never ever acted like this even when he's flown around and bumped his head. He's just siting in his cage and won't move from his spot. Does he have a concussion? Is he just in shock? Will he be ok?

I don't know. Someone else may be able to give better advice, but usually when a bird is not moving much, that means there's something wrong. Is he still eating and drinking? That's an indicator of something wrong. He could possibly be in shock or have a concussion, but sometimes birds just act weird for 'no reason'. Keep a close eye on him and let us know if anything changes.

I went to check on him this morning and he’s acting completely normal. Chirping happily and playing with his toys.

Probably just a small case of shock. My budgie Zucar had it when she got stuck behind one of those big old TVs :( could only get her out with a hanger and she was terrified! Like the lights were on and nobody's home. Usually they readily step up on your finger in those situations and sit quietly in the cage. Budgies that usually scream or bite when you touch them will sit completely silent when they are shocked allowing you to pet them, but just because you can doesn't mean you should. You just put them in the cage and put the cage cover over them to calm down and they should be fine.
It's best not to put them in those stressful situations, because a lot of budgies do get scared to death. But sometimes they can't be avoided and you don't see it coming. It's rare, but I kind of hate on myself when one of the budgies gets scared. A lot of the time it isn't your fault if they get scared.
My great aunt's budgie was eating an orange when it squirted in its eyes, it started to panic and my great aunt had a glove on, when she reached for the bird to help it, all it could see was this big scary glove and it died on the spot.

Yeah, that's true. Best not to put them in stressful situations.
