Do you have the strength to do a necropsy? I would be curious if Speckled Hen was right- that she was laying internally?

Part of me wants to because I'm curious of the same thing, but I just don't know if I can. I definitely don't want the kids to see. It's our first "pet" that we've lost. Thank God it wasn't one of the dogs or cats we've had since they were babies. How long can I wait to do that? Like, could I put her in the fridge and do it tomorrow? Ugh, why does my husband have to be at work now?!

I sent you the link to a video of a necropsy of a hen and a chart that tells what to look for in some of the organs. Yes, you can put her in the fridge in a plastic bag till you do it.

I tried to watch to watch that video. I just don't think I can do that. I emailed the man I bought her from to see what he thinks. He has a little chicken ranch. His place is nice and clean and tested. I put Buffy in a shoebox. I guess we'll be having a little funeral tomorrow.

I've sent an email to the Poultry Science dept of NCSU to see about them doing the necropsy. My mom reminded me of that. We live just down the road from State, so if they could do that then it would be good. I just can't do it.
