My Burger King Rant

I thought you could "have it your way" at BK.

LOL I had a similar episode at Applebees' with lettuce. My husband finds it ridiculous, but I absolutely hate iceberg lettuce. It makes me gag, I just can't stand it.

I ordered a quesadilla burger, without lettuce. The waitress assured me that it came on the side with all their burgers, which is fine. Well it arrived, and had copious amounts of shredded iceberg lettuce on the burger, and there was no removing it because it was stuck to the melted cheese. When we finally got her attention, she apologised and took it back. Not 30 seconds later someone from the kitchen brought me another... except that it was obviously the same one! The tortilla had come apart where they had pulled it open, and it was now minus cheese for the most part but still had a few pieces of lettuce stuck to it. To add insult to injury, by this point it's stone cold. So again we wait for the waitress to return, who was totally embarassed by the whole affair. She gets the manager who offers to get me another, but for fear of having it spat into I wasn't too keen on that option. She offered us free dessert, but I was past hungry by then

They did refund us for my meal, but that's the last time I eat at that particular restaurant. If the kitchen staff have no self-respect about what they're serving, i'm eating elsewhere.

And yes it is bizarre having an iceberg lettuce loathing, but that is another (long) story!

I've had a similar experience at Applebee's. I was served under cooked shrimp. They were on a skewer and several of them were pretty much raw. When I complained I got the same dish back and everything on it was overcooked and dry. It was inedible. I complained again but was still charged for the meal. I wrote to the manager and never heard anything. I emailed the company and receieved a coupon for a free meal. I don't think I ever used it.

Sorry for your experience PC. We ate at BK tonight too, something we rarely do! DH had band rehearsal and we were running late. Then he got to rehearsal and no one was there. They forgot to tell him when they played on the Fourth that they weren't meeting tonight. Grrrrrr. Sorry, I kind of stole your rant.

People, when you go out to eat you are putting your life in others hands. I choose not to eat out much,..I have worked in these establishments and that was enough for me. Wendy's

(stay away from the chili) Just my opinion and by no means meant to offend no one.
