My Button Quail chicks are 1 week and 2 days old and they already have there wing feathers!

it's crazy how fast they can grow feathers and just grow within 24hours.

And they can jump so high now and talk about fast!!..lol

Every morning when i clean the Button tank it's like a rush..i gotta recount like 10 times to make sure no one has got away..lol and all 9 of my buttons don't look like there going to be the normal button quail color.. cuz all 9 have either White - Grey - or Silver feathers..

I swear though.. everytime i clean the tank or try to hold one they all run like there about to get killed or something..lol

...........

My Coturnix Quail chicks are 1 week 1 day old and they have there wing feathers to!

The Coturnix chicks are more calm than the button chicks.. when i'm holding the coturnix chicks they don't try to run away and they run to my hand when i reach in there tank

And there fat..lol they sure love to eat! my Golden coturnix chick feathers are sooo pretty if it's a hen i'ma keep her..lol

Theres not much to say about the coturnix chicks cuz there just more calm about things than the button chicks

I'm glad to see you're quail are doing good!

I love the Coturnix, we had a rough time with ours when they were young, but they're half-grown now and settled in now. We even hald an automatic watering system coming this week. Then they will really be settled in.

Look forward to seeing the pictures. I need to update pictures of mine.

I know what you mean. Mine are about 8 weeks old. I'm just starting to enjoy them. I put them in different cages and spread out so I can see them better. I can't wait for the eggs. They really enjoy the dust bath. My little boy loves to watch them.
Congrats on your quail good fortune.

I moved all my baby coturnix quail outside the other day. I finished their new pen and added a auto water bowl to it. It sure makes it nice not to worry about filling it everyday. The adults did great with all the new babies and they seem to get along just fine. I will have to take pictures of their new home tomorrow. I like coturnix quail better then the buttons. They are calm and easy to handle compared to the buttons. That is the main reason I sold all mine you couldn't handle them and I had to worry they would fly out of the cage I had them in when I went to feed and water.

all my quails go in the BIG pen this weekend.. they don't need there brooder light anymore there cover in feathers..lol

So pics in a little bit.......

I love my coturnix! I have several colors and sizes. Everyone I've seen so far all say they are calm birds. Bobwhites are aggressive and rather flighty, buttons from what I heard are even worse when it comes to being skittish. I'm still considering buttons but for next year when I have an avairy built for some of the other birds I'm looking into.

Everyone looks GREAT!!! The buttons will be funny looking in another week. They get all of the feathers in before they get thier head feathers. Then the head feathers come in with a streak down the middle and then fill in on the sides. They look like they have tiny mo-hawks.. I just love watching them grow. I have babies hatching right now. There were 110 eggs but a couple were bad and had to come out. 55 are mine and 53 are shipped eggs. I put black dots on my eggs so at least I can count shells to see how many of mine compared to shipped hatch. Good luck with your babies and let me know if you ever need more eggs..lol Jenn
