My Cayugas are hatching.

Thank you so much for all of your help. Sadly we lost not only the rest of the eggs but also the second duckling that hatched. He had a very serious infection develop that was seeping from his umbilicus. His poor little body swelled up with it, too. It was so sad.

On to a hopeful future with new eggs ... if I have already started eggs in the turner, is it safe to lay them down now? I have 3 Pekin eggs and 2 Mallard eggs, all of which are showing development.

What about goose eggs? When those get here should they be done the same as the ducks?

Thank you so very much for your help. I hate that my learning curve was harmful to that one batch of eggs but I have every intention of taking every bit of that lesson and building on it.

Do you have BLUE KOTE. If you ever end up with that problem again, the infection, spray some blue kote on it. WORKS GREAT!!

YES, as soon as you development lay them down. I sure your 60% will increase, and you'll be like OHHH MYYYY , what am I going to do with all these ducks now?? You'll be overwhelmed.. LOL

YES, goose samething, the concept of hatching is all the same.

BLUE KOTE ... another item that I will keep on hand at all times. Thank you.

Ok, so looks like I'll be laying some duck eggs down today. Thank you. This has been very hard on me. My chicken egg experience has been great, almost just have to wish them to hatch and they do. With y'all helping me, teaching me, I'll get there with ducks and geese, too. Thank you!

NICE, keep us informed on how your hatching goes. I have 11 Call ducks in my bator right now, GRRR. That's a lot of calls, I'm hoping a blue one will pop out by accidently. The color runs in my flock so crossing fingers..

Chickens are less stressful that's for sure.LOL if we could ONLY decrease the amount of time it takes to hatch out ducks and geese. HUMMMM LOL
