EffHello everyone, I am new here.
Yesterday a feral cat attacked my chick and it might have broken its neck. I made a make shift neck brace and put it under a heat lamp and then I fed it some water and chick food using a syringe.I checked to see if it was paralyzed but it moved it’s legs and got up once. I was hoping if you guys could offer me some useful advice on how to care for it better.:)

The neck is probably not broken. Have you checked it over looking for any wounds, even tiny punctures (they can hide in feathers, you have to look carefully, centimeter by centimeter, parting feathers)? Depending on what happened, there could be internal injuries. Treat for shock first with fluids (electrolites), warmth, and quiet. If the chick recovers some, then check carefully for injuries. Those will need to be flushed out well with a chlorhexidine solution, diluted betadine, or mild soapy water. Because it was a cat there is a high risk of infection, cats carry a bacteria in their mouths that is very toxic and deadly for birds (pasturella multocida), it can reproduce and be fatal fairly quickly. You can get amoxicillin on line as fish mox or aqua mox without a prescription. Some feed stores may carry it, so you could call and ask, but you may have to order it. If you know someone else near you who keeps chickens or other birds, they might have some on hand until you can get some. In this case waiting is not really a good option. Dose would be 57 mg per pound of weight twice a day for 5-7 days.
