My chick has a lump

Hey guys,

We have a chick, they 6 days old now. However, we’ve noticed that they have a lump at their bellybutton. It doesn’t appear to be bothering them, but we have no clue what it is. It’s solid and hard. Do any of you know what it is? And if so, is there a way to treat it?

Too low to be pasty butt and doesn’t look quite right to just be a crusty dropping that dried to the down. Could be a bit of yolk that didn’t get absorbed all the way when it hatched. I would leave it, if it is dry then it will likely fall off after a while. Do not try to remove it or you could very well open up the thin abdominal wall and pull out intestines, which would kill it.
