So I can here my chick chirping in its shell, I don’t see any cracks or anything. Should I just let it be? Should I try and help it? Any advice is much appreciated.

Sounds like it's internally pipped, which is normal. They pip internally, continue absorbing, pip externally, finish absorbing, and then finally zip and hatch. If it hasn't pipped externally in about 24 hours you might want to consider putting in a safety hole.

Leave it be! When you hear it chirping, that means it's breathing the air in the air sack. Your baby will pip eventually, and when he does, he'll take another long rest before unzipping. :) Hang in there.

Just 1 egg incubating?
Hi Aart,

I've got 15 in the incubator now. Day 19 and I put them on lock down yesterday. I have 7 out of 15 that have pipped, active chirping and two have begun to unzip. On day 19! I would suppose my incubator may run a little warm and that's why they are hatching early. All seems well, though. I expect to have a few out by this evening and some others tomorrow. We do have stormy weather coming, so I hope that the power doesn't go out. I guess to keep the humidity up I could put warm dish towels in that have been wet with hot water. Fingers crossed that it won't be necessary. Just don't want any shrink wrapped chicks.

Peeps...I was asking the OP.
It's 'kind of' rude to hijack threads instead of starting your own. ;)
Not to be rude, Aart, but I do not need to be schooled on good manners.
My intent in posting here was to allow the OP to see that they probably don't need to do anything with the egg that they hear the peeping from. It was intended to be reassuring.

No harm, no foul. I finished posting on this thread.
