My Chick is Dying....But I Will Never Give Up!

Keep her warm!

Go to a pet store tomorrow and get her Exact baby parrot food and a plastic syringe for hand feeding her. A few days of that and she'll get enough strength to eat on her own! If you can't find that, get some well-mashed scrambled eggs into her.

Good Mommy! You are a tender heart like me- if you search my posts you'll see one about an anorexic Polish I have- who is now normal!

Good luck!

I would give her the sugar water if that is what she will drink. Good luck! I am glad she is doing so well!

Thanks for the encouragement and I am glad to hear your hen made it! Does the stuff animal thing really work?

My little one would lay right on top of the stuffed animal. Made her feel comfort I think. Can't hurt.

You are such a good mama hen! I'm that way too, with you, ChooksChick, and me, well save as many fuzzbutts as possible! Hope all goes well and if she's happy "talking" to the other girls, I'd say keep her with them. If she declines though you may want to bring her to a dark room but keep the red light on her.

First and for most I want to say, thanks everyone so much for all their great advice and help!

The baby pullet I named Gracie passed away yesterday at around 4:00p.m.

I tried and did everything I could and I guess it was just her time to go, I would have much rather her die here in a comfortable home then at TSC where she was being trampled and probably left for dead for hours.

I wish she would have made it, it was a sad day yesterday but my other hens have helped keep my spirits high and we will miss her!

Oh no! I'm sorry she passed! You did a great thing for her! She was love and cared for in her short time here! Sometimes we do things we know may wind up hurting us, but because we love these sweet babies we are willing todo it over and over again!!!

Thanks for the support everyone I wish she would have made it but in her honor and in the new found love for chickens, we purchased more chicks today and brought them home! I can not imagine that I would be so attached to a chick I only knew for a couple of hours because of Gracie I learned how much joy chickens can bring ppl and how much love care and attention they need that I am pretty sure I could not go a day for the rest of my life without taking care of one! I am glad I found her and brought her home she showed me how amazing her kind are!

Hello,
I to rescued a baby chick from TSC. Their bed was soaked and he had a huge gash on his back! I couldnt bear the thought of them "taking him out back" So they let me have him. He seems to be ok... super loud esp when I leave him. I had to seperate him from my other 2 week old pullets because I think that he may have an upper resp. infection. He is a bit sneezy, but he is still eatting, drinking and moving about. He cant move all to well, but he gets by. He walks kinda tilted and it almost seems as though his "thyroid" is swollen on one side. I would cull him if he wasnt so active. If I keep him near my ladies will he pass the cold onto them even if he is in a different container??? Any help is much appreciated. My ladies are all doing great btw, but I am so worried about Little Dude.
