I post this in the hope it may help you to diagnose the condition.
If chickens are wired up the same as humans then you'll find the eye and arm are interconnected through the brachial plexus. If there is damage to these nerves then the pupil might not dilate and the eyelid may droop or close completely. This is called Horner Syndrome.
Nerve roots can repair slowly, so if you are seeing signs of improvement, stick with it and be patient.
I'm going through a similar problem with one of my chicks and am concentrating on vitamin b and physio to treat her.
