I have a 3 week old chick that hatched with a twisted leg ive tried doing hobbles but it just does not hold together any other ideas on what could do to try and fix it? Id hate to cull it hes so strong and healthy other than the leg please help!
She may have a leg bone deformity like Varus Valgus, twisted tibia or similar. This can be caused by genetics, mineral deficiencies in parent stock or possibly improper incubation. Unfortunately, trying to correct these deformities is usually not successful.
Some people "wait and see" how it goes. You can add Poultry vitamins containing B2(Riboflavin) to help with leg growth. Depending on your goals, it may be kinder to cull, you will not want to breed this chick.
