My chicken and duck coops/run...I’d love to see yours!

That chicken palace 🤩 I wish I was handy with tools

It started out as an 8x12. Then we staked it out and it seemed awfully small for our plans so it turned into an 12x16.

Then DH was planting posts and said that 12 feet didn't work out for the way he wanted to plant posts so it because 16x16.

I didn't understand the roof until he got it framed.

This is what we are working with they have running boards tree stumps 16x20 coop in a 40x60 run and a little coop on top of the fridge dust box

We utilized a 6.5 x 80 foot space behind our existing runs and a corral, edged on one side by a row of shady mulberry trees. We added chain link on the perimeter to keep chickens and ducks IN and dogs and people OUT. Works great, easy access for feeding as adjacent to existing pens, Happy campers!

We converted a 12 by 24 temporary hay shelter into a run by covering it in chicken wire connecting it with metal zip ties-and we have their coop inside so we never close the door in fact there is no door we reused their old run which is 6 by 8 and connected plywood around it to make their coop and cover their run in varying sizes of tarps according to summer or winter weather its not fancy but we only have 10 chickens so they have plenty of space

That's going to be nice and spacious and airy, but the only thing chicken wire does is keep chickens in.

Raccoons and dogs go right through it. :(
I know I’ve read all the sad stories here but since 2014 i have only enclosed my runs in chicken wire and had 0% trouble with any kind of predator maybe because we have 5 cats patrolling the area? horses and and very noisy neighbor dogs oh and i thought about the tarps on the run It is windy here a lot those tarps snap in the wind making lots of noise the chickens are used to it but maybe that scares the critters too

We have enlarged our coop, gotten more chicks, and now I need to add on to the run. It's going to look very pieced together, but the price for most of the materials -- free, or on hand -- can't be beat. I need to get the pieces together and start assembling soon.

DH was on vacation last week and went to visit family. So it'll be a bit before I get too far along. He needs to get caught up on "his" projects first.

I have 3 hens, 1 roo, and 3 chicks (pullets, if they were sexed correctly). The run right now is about 90 sf, so "enough room" for 7 birds. I want to add on about 64 more sf so there's plenty for the littles to have some space for awhile, if need be. And more room is always better! :) Because, who knows, I might get more chickens next year...

Ours is still in the making but here’s our progress so far! We decided to go with one layer of cattle fencing for strength and one layer of chicken wire to make the holes smaller for added protection. Once we’re done with the run enclosure we’ll cut and add the door from the shed where they have a section of the shed! I love seeing everyone else’s as well!

We just got our 4 chickens about 2 months ago. I designed the coop based mostly on what we had lying around to make it (old kitchen cabinet doors, fencing, plywood, and a louvered door frame from a thrift store mirror). Hubby made it for me last year but we didn't get the chickens until this year because he only just got the pen built. We can't let them run free because of neighbor dogs and a local fox. Finished their chicken tractor this week. I need to figure out a dry bath area and we want to open the pen to expand it and give them more room. I still have a folk art design in mind to paint the doors, one that opens to clean out the coop and the other for ventilation in hot summer. IMG-0189.JPG IMG-0196.JPG IMG-0200.JPG IMG-0593.JPG
