Truly enjoyed your answer to chickens eating BlackWidows ... this is a question that came to me just a couple of days ago when turning over some old clay post on the back side of our coop ... potting shed area. We also have scorpions. What is your take on chickens eating scorpions ?? Will our chickens eventually go after the scorpions ??

My three week old girls eat every bug that they see, I seen them tare apart a hobo spiderthis mornin and eat it, since the hobo is as deadly as the brown recluse and there still alive and kickin im sute a black widow wont cause no threat. My girls go after scorpions aswell, they peck them ti death then tare it aprart. Here is a scorpion I caught in there coop before they seen it.

We're glad to have you. I think that your hen will be fine. My chickens have eaten spiders and centipedes before, and are fine.

They should be ok. There is a huge difference between venomous and poisonous. You or a chicken can eat most venomous things without problems if you're healthy and have no other issues. Got an ulcer and the venom gets in your blood stream, you could die. Do yourself a favor for life. Research poisonous vs venomous. It could save your life.
