My Chicken Existential Crisis... I mean journey

I mean, mine multiply enough they're probably decent layers. But mine free range 24/7/365 so they just make nests and appear with babies. But clutches are usually close to 20 eggs
oh I understand that. my gamehens like to go broody in the woods and show up with chicks.

Here's some nof my flock

I've got some good broody ladies and an incubator so I dont really want a broody breed.

@JacinLarkwell more in the roommate saga

me: I'm selling 4 roosters today to the guy who bought 20 a few months ago
her: why does he only want 4 this time?
me: that's all the spare roosters I have
her: why not sell him hens?
me: i assume he doesnt want to pay hen prices since he asked for roosters
her: your hens dont lay anyway so I think you should just sell them off and get a production breed
me: I'm aware of what you think
her: well you're lucky what I think doesnt matter
me: I'm not lucky, I've designed it that way

and then, for the 10th time, we had a discussion about how my girls arent laying and she thinks they should have laid at 6-8months so clearly they're just never gunna be layers.

but they are 8-9 months and its WINTER
