My chicken has a boo boo

Hi everyone I am new to posting here. So I amnhopong you can help me . My 4 year old hen marigolds spiral band broke and was in her skin I pulled it out and right away cleaned it and out medical ointment with no pain reliever in it and wrapped it with gauze and vet flex. I have been repeating this a few times a day for four days. Now she has the weird red blister looking thing coming out of the cut and is still limping. Can anyone give me an idea what to do. She is such a sweet hen .

Welcome to BYC. I would keep some antiseptic, such as Betadine, Chlorhexidene, or Vetericyn on it until it dries up.

Hi! Welcome to BYC! We sometimes get blood build up around a wound, so why not chickens? I think it's the body's way of protecting the area. I think you are doing the right things for her to heal. Good luck!
