Two days ago one of my chickens died bc of a dog injury. Today her sister keeps falling to the side. She tries to eat and falls down, so she just eats sitting down. I can’t lose another chicken. Please help.

The symptoms are like those from a chicken becoming symptomatic with an avian virus. The symptoms also may mimic vitamin B-2, 6, and 12 deficiency. There is no treatment for avian viruses, so go ahead and treat for vitamin B deficiency with a B-complex. Find it at any pharmacy that sells people vitamins. Get B-100 as it has all the B vitamins in greatest quantity.

To give a pill, simply pry open the beak and shove the whole tablet inside. Give one per day. If this is going to work, you should see improvement in two weeks. If not, you should suspect a virus.

If this is toxic poisoning, there is no cure, and it won't get better, but may not get any worse.

Oh ok thank you. Definitely didn’t know. We were gifted the baby chicks and don’t know much. We have loved them since day one, and try our best to care for them.
