My chicken is Isolating and not eating or drinking, please help!

I have a chicken who is acting just like that. Can you please update and tell me what happened? What did the vet find?

I hope your girl is doing better, i just saw this post. I should update it so everyone will know what happen to my girl. I took her to the vet and she said she was not egg bound or could feel any growth but she felt that she might have swallowed metal object and the toxicity might be effecting her. She had me tube feed her for about a week and gave her antibiotics but she didn't make it. I took a metal magnet stick to the area where my girls free range frequently, I'm very sad i lost her! :(

My chicken is still hanging in there. It is three weeks this morning. She has returned to being with the flock after a few days on antibiotic, and anti inflammatory meds. Same deal, not egg bound, and vet could feel nothing unusual. But I had blood work done and her liver enzymes are highly elevated. I am not sure what this means, but the vet thinks it’s likely indicative of a tumor, and she probably will die. I agonized over whether to put her down, but just when I reached the decision she took a turn for the better, and has rallied somewhat. She is eating with the others and has returned to her old habits which were so endearing before❤️. She has lost a good bit of weight tho. So it’s a wait and see game right now.

That is good to hear that she is back to eating with the flock, maybe the meds helped her and what ever is ailing her. I hope she can recover fully and be back to being a healthy girl, give her some tasty food that can put some weight back on her. :)

I am so sorry... I see now that this thread is old I'm reading, desperately trying to figure out what's wrong with my hen. And, although this might not be my hen's issue, a swallowed toxic object like metal is always in my mind. I did a rebuild project this summer and I was diligent about picking up every little staple that fell out, every broken nail... but sometimes one can just escape you even tho you scour the coop and yard for an hour for it. Anyway, thank you for sharing about your own experiences. 💓
