My chicken laid a shell less egg

This only happened once but most of her other eggs are misshapen or have brown speckles on them, is there anything I can do to prevent this?

One shell-less egg should put this hen on a "watch" alert. Certain chicken diseases can cause eggs to be misshapen. Poor calcium absorption can cause shell-less eggs.

How old is this hen? If she continues to lay shell-less eggs, try giving her one people calcium tablet a day until the eggs have good shells.

Just make sure she is getting enough calcium.
The speckles are normal but the odd shapes may indicate she has had an infection.

She is about 3 years old, I have started to save egg shells to feed to her.
