Our Sulmtaler just layed her first egg a couple days ago! Yesterday, she layed her second egg! After 8 months of patiently waiting, we were thrilled to find an egg in the laying box! We are still waiting for our Bielefelder to start laying as well. Right now, the egg laying score is Austria-2, Germany-0 Now, we want to eat them. I was told by a friend to eat the first one raw. Does anyone know the benefits of that? I also read about blowing out the egg & draining it, then saving the egg shell. This is our first time hatching & raising chickens, so to finally see the product of our loving labours is just amazing!
