my chicken quacks

I'm still not certain how to sex these sumatras. I see a destinct difference in their tails and assume the longer straighter tails are pullets. There are a couple of them that have started making a loud "quacking" sound. Like a mix of a duck and a cat. Doesn't sound like anything the older birds do. I wish I could show pictures, but still can't make photo bucket work.

Is quacking sound gender specific?

Gosh pics would help a lot. My chickens make all kinds of different noises. I have a Turken that hollers like a child. And my BO purrs like a kitten. I guess there is no telling without pics.
