My chicken will sit down very still

My leghorn is about 4 months old. When I walk up to her or just open gate to let her in she sits down and I can reach and pick her up. She is like if it was dark outside roosting. Want to make sure she is ok

probably squatting. Close to laying is my guess

I agree with corewassen - a hen squats to be in position for the rooster. They start behaving like this when they are at point of lay. Her comb will enlarge and get redder, eggs should be arriving soon.
