My chicken won’t sit on her eggs

Hi so I have a Wyandotte hen that’s in with my rooster and I candles her eggs today and they don’t look fertile but I may not have waited long enough is it possible that my rooster won’t breed her since they been together since they were baby’s or she just doesn’t get broody even if they are fertile

You can't candle an un-incubated egg to look for fertility. You'll have to crack some open and examine the yolk for the presence of a blastoderm or blastodisc.
Chickens don't always go broody. Either she will or she won't. If you want to raise chicks from your flock and no one goes broody, you'll have to invest in an incubator.

Her hormones will make her go broody, you can’t make her brood eggs. you can, however, get an incubator and brood the eggs yourself

Thanks I’m thinking about asking the extension office to borrow a incubator if she doesn’t end up getting broody since I don't really want my others hens to hatch but I’m trying to do this as a 4-H project
