My chickens have been coughing on and off for a while now. We tried gse in their water and hanging yarrow in the coop but nothing helped long term. We were using the pill form of gse by opening the capsule and mixing the powder into their water for about a week. That seemed to help for a little while but they began coughing again. I just heard today that using fine shavings is not good because it messes with their breathing. We have been intermitently using fine shavings in the coop (I can't believe I didnt connect the 2). How long after the fine shavings are removed will it take for them to stop coughing (if thats the cause), or does it sound like a more serious issue?
