I got some chicks this summer, and they finally went outside last week now that I got the coop done. They've been allowed out on supervised ranging this week until I get the automatic door finished this weekend. They've mostly figured out the electric fence, but I'll also be upgrading it this weekend with a homemade ignition coil based setup that I can control from my phone, along with motion sensors, temperature and humidity sensor, light sensor, and water bucket level sensors.

This summer. Not sure exactly how old they are, but their voices are just starting to crack.

(3) What breeds do you have?
3 amber white and 3 wyandotte
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Intense pre-chicken internet research?
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
steam engines, building things
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm an automation engineer, so automation is my thing.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I don't get enough comments on chickens sub reddits.
