My chickens are going nuts

I have sure notice a huge difference in breeds!
Unluckily the spastic ones get even the calm ones going.
I would love to separate the wild ones but already have 2 brooders in the house and have no idea where I could even put a third one.....

I have four crested birds from the batch I ordered from Ideal this year. The polish are definitely more active. I have 9 meat birds and 32 standard size of different breeds. When they come out of the coop in the morning the meat birds waddle down the plank, the standards (mostly RIR and Black Australorps) look out the pop door and check out the outdoors before proceeding in a reasonably orderly manner down the plank, but the crested birds, which are smaller than the others still, go running across the backs of the other birds, puffing their chests and flapping their wings, running around, pecking the ground, jumping up on the logs and waterer that is out there...running into the fence, running under the plank, just really kind of crazy. I think it must be the breed. They are entertaining to watch though, and eventually they settle down and act like a regular chicken.

For us up here in Michigan, it is the point in time when we are pretty sure we aren't going to have any more hard frosts anymore! Memorial weekend is when a lot of people plant, but it really depends on the weather and if it is dry enough.

Speaking of FROST!!! MINNESOTA!!! there was frost on my garden this morning!!! i almost cried!! the weather guy said that we are 6 inches of rain behind from what we get normally every year. so we live in the desert (since it doesnt rain in the desert) and we are battling frost! in June!! waaaahhhh
