my chickens are not chirping anymore starting to sound like real chickens.

well they are getting bigger by the day and they are starting to chirp a little less and starting to sound like chickens. I wonder if this is a sign they are getting closer to laying eggs. I have no idea if they are or not. I have had them about 2 months now and they were about 12 weeks old when I go them.

20 weeks is about the time. Their combs will get bigger and start getting very red shortly before they start laying.
They'll also check out the nest boxes for about a week before.

at this time I have the nest boxes out. I'm unsure if I should put them back in yet or wait another week or longer.

I have thought about putting them is to see what they do. I may put them in today after work or later this weekend.
