Hi BYC,
TODAY, I just received the chickens I have been anticipating for AGES!!! (This is my first time have chickens.) We got two Isa Brown chickens, they are going great! They ate and drank and interacted with eachother normally, until... Tonight.
Our coop is a small meshed up shed with lots of dirt on the bottom and an old plastic cubby house elevated with two little straw filled just for my chickens, Honey & Soy. (Yep, that's their names!)
I was watching them tonight when I realised I couldn't see Soy, only honey, the larger one. I looked around, then noticed little Soy was being sat on, but HONEY!
What's going on? They have plenty of roosting space, and it's nice and warm, they don't need to keep body heat in. The chicken have just started laying, but I'm not too sure how old they are, maybe, 20 week?
Why are they doing this, is it normal and will Soy be Ok?
