Then the noise may be due to dehydration.

The ones I have are a slightly better version than that.

Ah yes, I have some of those too, tho haven't used them....
....wouldn't say they are 'better', they work the same and if your chicks can't operate the pin make sure they get water some other way until they figure it out the nipples/sippers.
