my chickens are trying to kill me

how how how can 9 hens lay so many eggs?

I'm giving them away, i'm baking and cooking with eggs, and they still keep me over run, and i have 31 chicks in my bathtub and prepping for another batch of chicks. I... Well maybe I'm trying to kill myself. I do love my birds, even if I am over run with eggs. hehehe.

But boy d I have little feathered egg machines out there.

I came home from a 4 day vacation to 60 eggs in the nest box and one silly bantam cochin trying to hatch them....

I am now getting 17 eggs a day. I have an ad on CL and such but not selling enough to get rid of them. 2 yr old is allergic so I don't cook that much with eggs....

I bought chicks this spring because the three layers I have can't keep up with the demand at my office! I've talked people into taking guinea eggs to make up a dozen, some days. By fall, I hope to be in the position you are!

Of course, I also have seven bantams in the brooder, but they're just for the fun of it.

Too bad you are not in Arizona. I would like some more hens to keep RJ, the rooster happy!
