my chickens ate a raw egg today, will i be ok

my chickens started laying a few weeks ago . i have 6 hens.started with 3 a day. today we got 5, and tonite i noticed them messing around with something in the run.it was an egg that they were eating. i have heard horrible things about this. will i be ok ? or am i doomed after this ?

Egg eating can become a really bad habit. It's possible that the egg was dropped in the pen and accidentally broke. Collect your eggs frequently, put ceramic nest eggs in the nest boxes, and put curtains across the nest boxes if necessary to darken the nest box. Don't panic just yet. You will probably be OK>.

Yep, a broken or softshelled egg is fair game for them to eat and won't necessarily lead to the eating of intact eggs.
It can take up to a month or so for them to get things smoothed out and not drop one in the run.
